sittTraining for Secondary English Language Teachers in Serbia is a project designed by a group of English language teachers who have successfully completed a 200-hour Secondary ELT Training Course for the needs of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia and supported by the American Embassy in Belgrade (led by the approved International Training trainers: Annie Polatsek, MA / Slobodanka Kitić, Ph.D. / Radmila Popović, Ph.D. / John Huckaby, MA). It is aimed at improving the quality of ELT in Serbian secondary schools by providing teachers with theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary when working with teenagers, as well as by raising their awareness of the challenges that teaching teenagers poses.

The topics to be covered within the project can be divided into three broad categories: classroom management, the four skills, and teaching techniques.

The workshops are about to start in November, 2008/09 academic year.

The project has been supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia, the American Embassy in Belgrade (Cultural Affairs Office), and ELTA – Serbian English Language Teachers’ Association. For further details please check the Catalogue 2008/09 (no. 332 , ZUOV http://www.zuov.sr.gov.yu/Centartri/ )
